UGC 10822 - the Draco Dwarf Galaxy

This is a very elusive subject, but the 208/f3.9 seems to have solved it. I used the Canon 450d, modified by Hutech, and made 60, five-minute subs at iso 800 over two nights. Needless to say, the individual subs had no hint of the galaxy, faith in the instrument and the processing keeps me going. Acquisition and stacking with calibration in Nebulosity and post processing with Photoshop CS5 and plug ins... Printed in Astronomy Magazine,

Telescope

Explore Scientific 208 f3.9, ED apo with carbon fiber tube. Mounted on a modified Meade LX200gps 12-inch SCT fork set with cradle. Explore HR field flattener giving a working f ratio of 4.1

Camera

Canon Xsi/450d modified with Baader type 1 filter by Hautech

Exposure

60, five-minute sub exposures at iso 800 and 1600 with x-y dithering

Guiding

Modified 10 x 50 finder scope with Meade DSI pro I controlled by PHD Guiding form Stark Labs

Processing

Images acquired, calibrated, stacked, and color corrected in Nebulosity 3.3 from Stark Labs. Further processing in Photoshop CS5.
